Welcome to the State Bar Mandatory Fee Arbitration Program

This program provides an informal, confidential, and lower-cost forum to resolve fee disputes between lawyers and their clients. This kind of arbitration is required for a lawyer if requested by a client. The State Bar provides fee arbitration only when there is no local bar program.

How to Get Started

To file a request for arbitration:

  1. Click "Log In" in the top-right corner to sign in or register for an account.
  2. Once logged in, click the "New" icon in the left navigation bar.
  3. Complete and submit your request for arbitration.
Continue a Saved Application

If you have already started your request for arbitration and saved it as a draft:

  1. Go to the "Drafts" tab in the left navigation bar.
  2. Open your saved application.
  3. Complete the remaining details and submit your request.
